New Moon in Leo

August 6, 2013 4:50pm CDT

Dance like there’s nobody watching.

New Moon June

Our New Moon is in Leo. Ah Leo. Leo pride. Pride can be the downfall with Leo. And who among us doesn’t need to check their willfulness? But wait… hold on, on the other hand if there’s too little self-love, the ability to dance is sadly absent. Has there been injury to your joy? Were you conditioned not to express your joy? Were you reprimanded for expressing too much joy? Is joy repressed such that when it bursts forth it’s obvious that it has been repressed?

As Leo grows into mature empowerment, inner joy is apparent to all – Leo’s dance is contagious and visible for all to see. Fully empowered, Leo always finds a way to slip a little joy into the lives of others.

I am fortunate to know a Leo – I know this being intimately. How lucky am I? With Leo I’ve found that there’s an on-stage Leo and an off-stage Leo. Most of us know about the on-stage Leo, but let me share with you a little about the off-stage Leo.

First I’ll share a drawing from the Peter Max zodiac collection from the 70’s.

New Moon June

Of course we know the SUN rules Leo, the ever-burning brightness of Leo blasting its light, full-spectrum, for the entire world to see, but Peter Max must have known a Leo intimately for he fittingly surrounds the sun with heart form. When off stage, Leo softens and – oh my can you handle the joy? Joy is inherent in us all. There are only twelve zodiac signs and there are twelve houses in everyone’s chart and therefore each and every one of us has Leo somewhere in our astrological, archetypal make up. Are we on-stage or off-stage in that area? And are we expressing the disempowered side or the empowered side of either the on-stage or off-stage Leo?

The off-stage Leo is private and soft, and is both an asset and a challenge. The soul chooses Leo’s placement in our celestial birth chart – and therein lies the challenge on this path of evolution to soften with joy, to balance all the aspects of Sun energy, and to freely express on stage or off.

“You've gotta dance like there's nobody watching,

Love like you'll never be hurt,

Sing like there's nobody listening,

And live like it's heaven on earth.”
