New Moon in Sagittarius

Thursday December 13, 2:41 am CDT

The world definitely feels like it’s getting smaller. And we all sense something is shifting, a new world and a new humanity beyond what we have experienced to date, beyond the Mayan calendar, possibly interfacing with other galaxies. The picture of the future is as open as the collective mind. And since it takes a lot of individual minds to make up the collective, let’s look at Sagittarius and the effect it can have on our mind-set.

Borrowing from U2’s lyrics...
“We are one, but we are not the same.”

November New Moon 2012

The energy of Sagittarius stretches our minds to the highest truths possible. The point of the arrow in the constellation of Sagittarius points to our galaxy’s Galactic Center urging us to expand our horizons. We associate the archetype of Sagittarius with the adventurer, the wanderer, the seeker. And if your Sun is in Sagittarius, or your Moon, or your Ascendant, this is a large part of who you are. The ninth house in the birth chart is ruled by Sagittarius, so if you have planets in the 9th this is how you express those planets in addition to the sign those planets are in. The mind is on fire to explore as we search for, as we search for... more. This expansion quality of Sagittarius is why it’s the archetype for nature lovers. Sagittarius ‘must’ be free and Sagittarius energy finds that freedom in nature where they explore the sky or hike to the next vista, and on to the next.

In Sagittarius we find the philosophical mind, the mind that intuits truth and becomes the KNOWING mind. Here the visionary stretches beyond boundaries and connects with electromagnetic codes of knowledge. Light bulbs go off. Knowing flows. Books are written. Words are offered. The guru is found here. When Sagittarius is expressed in its ultimate potential the guru’s words can be trusted, but gurus are rare. Gurus may be rare and may not be currently embodied, but when we hear or read their words something resonates with a oneness of knowing that we all share.

Sagittarius has its shadow side, as do all archetypes, and we humans must often travel the shadow’s path to find the light. So let’s take a peek at a few of the ways Sagittarius can trip us up. The knowingness of Sagittarius can present as OPINIONS, and they can be set in stone. It is often called tunnel vision... each locked into his or her own theories. We come to ‘know’ a truth and we’re convinced that its a universal truth, and we’ve written words, and spoken words, and emailed words, and texted words taking up the cause only to hear some one say, “Well I’m glad that works for you.”

One of the highest truths Sagittarius offers is the truth of our individuation. Each soul is as unique as a snowflake or a finger print. So how do we come together as friends, lovers, communities, cultures, and maintain this INDIVIDUATED SELF and allow others to maintain theirs? How can we come to grips with the massive differences? We are a hodgepodge of humans trying to live together under a UNIVERSAL LAW of unity in diversity, and it works when we allow it. There are a lot of us to consider, and how many of us on the planet believe that we are right and ‘they’ are wrong? Based on this type of thinking how many of us... how many of our leaders have leapt into the fray only to find out that we leapt too quickly and then rationalized our thoughts and our behavior vehemently, a huge shadow of Sagittarius. With rationalization - it’s never our fault. The flip side and the higher side of Sagittarius would be taking in the facts and a having a willingness to honestly appraise. Rationalization is just a defense mechanism, and that’s according to a guy named Fraud. But then, that’s just Fraud’s opinion, right? Nah, I think it’s a truth. But then that’s my opinion.

When we let loose the arrow in our mind does the arrow fly true?

December New Moon 2012

And does it benefit the collective?

As we move into galactic consciousness and sail through celestial wormholes can we maintain our sacred authenticity? Can we celebrate unity in diversity, or do we dig our heels into the sand and continue to chase the windmills in our minds?

Here is my admission... I am in no way free of my opinions, prejudices, and the pushing of these upon those I meet. I’m reading my own words and trying – trying very hard to hear them. That’s all any of us can do. And I’m fortunate to have a couple of people in my life that dig my opinions, some of the time. I hope you too are lucky enough to have some one that kinda ‘gets you’, most of the time.

December 21, 2012... The Sun will be in Sagittarius and its ruling planet, Jupiter, will be highlighted in a pattern known as a Yod, or Finger of God. It is truly an important date. No, I do not believe the world will end, but I suspect in someway it’s a new beginning.

December 21, 2012 the end of the Mayan Calendar.
What’s on the other side?
Truth?
Universal Truth?
Collectively, the arrow wobbles.
The answer lies in whether we are choosing love or fear... in any given moment.
